One of the many things I love about spring is the spring haircut and highlight. My sister hooked me up with some lovely spring hair today. Thanks Andi! :)

Surprise!
My wonderful sister-in-law, Ashley turned 25 this week and her best friend, who is also dating my brother-in-law (I'll draw you a diagram later), thought it would be fun to surprise her with a party. Today I'm thankful for everyone keeping it a secret. She had no clue!!!
We love you Ashley! So glad we got you! Happy Birthday. :)

Laughter
I know! A post for two days in a row! I must be feeling much better. :o) Today I'm thankful for LaUgHtEr. ;o)
Last night, we headed to Laugh Fest.
It's a huge 10 day comedy festival put on by Gilda's Club of Grand Rapids. Supposedly, it's one of the biggest comedy festivals in the country with something for everyone. We saw 3 of the comics from the previous season of Last Comic Standing. Hilarious! I was nervous about being sore after laughing with my teeth getting pulled and all, but would you believe I went for over 10 hours without a dose of meds?! Yeah! If you have a chance over the next week to check it out, it's a great cause and they say laughter is super good for you! Maybe it's why I slept so well last night. On a final note...a joke of my own...
Who knew we were such 'money bags' and could help sponsor Laugh Fest! :o)

3 Things
So, I've been slacking a bit this week on the ole' blog, so here goes. Today you get 3 things I'm thankful for to make up for lost time. :)
1. Healing
As you know, I had my wisdom teeth exactly one week ago. It was a rough week, especially at the beginning with school and parent teacher conferences, but I am amazed at how quickly our bodies heal. I ate 'real food' again today! A sub and chips...it felt so good to crunch some Doritos! I'm feeling better everyday and am pretty confident that I'll be back to 100% before I know it. :)
2. Professional Development Days
Yes, today was a Professional Development Day at school. The training wasn't too bad, nothing super exciting, but it's always nice to have a day without students. Now, I LOVE teaching and I LOVE my students, but after a week of recovering from surgery, working a full week with parent teacher conferences on top of it, it was wonderful to have a little less hectic day. It's always nice to spend a day with my colleagues sans students. :)
3. Sunshine!
I really do love living in Michigan, but the winters really get to me! I'm so happy that spring is finally starting to make an appearance. Driving home from school today, I was all toasty with the sun shining on me and I LOVED it! I cannot wait to be able to go to anywhere without a winter coat!
So, there you have it, this is what happens when I don't write all week. All of the gloriousness gets packed into one posting. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend, enjoy the sunshine today, and find some things to celebrate!

Teeth
My wonderful hubby gets the shout-out again today!
I had my wisdom teeth removed today, yep, all four of them. I was really nervous about it seeing that getting my tonsils out was the only other surgery I've ever had (of which I'm thankful for) and that was when I was 4. Needless to say I don't remember much about it besides the fact that I was sick for quite a while from the anesthetic.
Well, my surgery today went awesome and my husband took the day off to bring me in and take care of me. As I type, he's at Wendy's picking up some 'soft food' for me...ala baked potato, chili and a frosty. Yum! I'm feeling really great and have only taken one pain pill today. :o) Hope this is a sign of what's to come. Thanks Joely!

Mmmmm!
Today I'm thankful for baking. Nothing beats the smell of something wonderful baking in the oven. Tonight I made Cinnamon Applesauce Oatmeal Muffins. Super yummy, not too bad for you and they make a wonderful breakfast! The recipe is over on my friend Melissa's blog Hungry Happy Healthy. Hope you enjoy! They will make your house smell divine! :)
